Viet,
How are you? I hope you, and your family are well. Both Lori, and I are doing fine. You know how it is when you return from vacation, and get back into that daily grind.
Our trip to Vietnam was really spectacular. When I tell people about our trip, I always get a smile as I relive my experiences. Thanks to both you and Duc, Lori and I have many special memories. I am going to send Butch Sincock a note this week, and advice him how very pleased we were with everything.
Viet, feel free to contact me at anytime. We wish you the very best.
Your friends,
Don & Lori-

“ We know Viet in the context of his having been the local tour operator and lead guide for Butterfield and Robinson, the high end international “adventure” tour operators, we recently holidayed with for 9 days on a cycling tour of Vietnam.
Viet demonstrated that he is a man of many talents. Well educated with ourselves fortunate that he took on the lead guide role on our particular tour. This is because he is a man of great character and humor with many stories to tell of his interesting personal past and deep knowledge of the history and culture of his peoples. He was exceptionally good company and each member of our group sought him out at one time or another to plumb the depths of his knowledge and experience of life in general in Vietnam. Some hired him to take them on personal outings in their spare time.
He also dedicated himself at all times to ensuring the group were comfortable and enjoying themselves as well as directing his support team in ensuring the transport vans and bikes were always in the right places at the right time with all the equipment in perfect working order. His command of the complicated logistics involved in pre-checking our bags and flights and ensuring our bags arrived in our hotel rooms ahead of us was most impressive.
He led from the front on all our cycling excursions always patiently answering our many questions and periodically stopping to give us the history and insights into the visual spectacles along the way and recommending places to eat on our “free” nights.
We also had cause to be very grateful to him for not only spotting a problem with our onward flights (post Butterfield & Robinson) but also in helping us to sort them out, acting as our interpreter with Vietnam Airlines. It was clear to us that he is very well connected and has a great understanding of the intricacies of airline systems.
We would highly recommend him because his professional, conscientious, knowledgeable and personable approach will be highly valued by your clients and yourselves.”

“ Viet is a tour guide extraordinaire. I have referred many friends and colleagues to him since my first tour in Vietnam over 6 years ago. Everyone returns absolutely delighted.
He is extremely bright, educated, engaging and speaks perfect English. He is passionate and professional about his work and is excellent in providing customized tours of all types. His quick read of visitors once they arrive ensures that his clients are always pleased.
I have known Viet for many years, have met his entire family, and spent considerable time with him, his darling wife and two young sons. There are not many people whose honesty, integrity and competence I would vouch for as confidently as I do for Viet.”

“Viet did everything for us. All we had to do was enjoy the trip. He knows the countryside as well as the cities. We spent three weeks with him and can’t wait to return.”

Viet,
I want to thank for you for organizing a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. As you know, I had never traveled in Asia before, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I read all the tour books and the travelogues, but nothing prepared me for the unexpected surprises on my trip to Vietnam and Laos that made the trip so very special.
The variety, freshness and beautiful display of food in the open air markets, made the thought of going home to “modern” over-refrigerated, artificially lit, pre-packaged socalled supermarkets, sot unappealing.. In Vietnam, you met and were connected to the people growing the food that you would eat that evening.
What was surprising about the cities was how safe I felt. There were very few police, except those that helped tourists cross the busy streets, it didn’t seem as though there was a need for them.
At the top of my list though were the visits to the remote ethnic villages. To see the simplicity of life there, where children played (not with computer games) and adults watched (not TV) and talked and visitors who looked and dressed and lived so differently were welcomed with warm smiles and laughter, really made me appreciate the important points of life. I went home with a completely different perspective. Travel with you, for me, was life changing. I can’t wait to go back for more.

A Return to Vietnam
A desire to return to Vietnam in the early 90’s for me culminated in 1998. I met my new friend Viet. He was our guide, interrupter and friend. Viet scheduled every memorable moment. We had great hotel accommodations to excellent restaurants. The Vans that transported us were new, dependable and on time. Over the 10 days of my tour I can’t say we had one delay or problem. Viet has a great understanding of the English language. He has infinite knowledge of the history of his country. I plan to return again in the next few years to share the experience with my wife. I will again have Viet as our guide and would recommend him to anyone that needs his services. Give him a good tip, as he is a family man.

Educational Trips
For over 10 years I have traveled to Vietnam with groups of secondary students. On each of these visits Viet has been our guide. Moreover I have always requested that Viet be the guide for our study tours. I have never hesitated recommending Viet to my friends who travel to Vietnam. They have always been very pleased with Viet’s services.
Viet has many qualities which single him out as an exceptional tour guide. He is exceptionally knowledgeable and he is able to impart this knowledge with ease and interest. He is disciplined and organized, always thinking ahead. He is flexible and can always deviate from the itinerary if something more interesting turns up. Above all he is liked by everyone in the group. Viet has a warm and engaging personality.
It is not surprising that Viet has guided some famous personalities around Vietnam, including Robert de Niro. His clients have included many American vets. Viet has visited America and Thailand. He understands the needs and thinking of western visitors and is always honest in his portrayal of the past.
Our international students warm to Viet. He understands the needs and interests of young people. At the end of each visit to Vietnam they write an evaluation of the tour. Viet, the guide, is always rated 10 out of 10.
If you want to see the beautiful and absorbing country of Vietnam there is no better traveling companion that Viet. I enthusiastically recommend him to all travelers to this fascinating land.
