Day 1: Take the overnight train ride from Hanoi to Lao Cai on the Victoria Orient Express.

Day 2: Arrive at the station and take a van ride to Sa Pa Town – home of ethnic minority people. After breakfast at the hotel, begin the hike into the picturesque Muong Hoa Valley, famous for terraced rice fields, and the villages of Zay and Red Zao hill tribes. Return to Sa Pa and dine in a local restaurant.

Day 3: Today the long hike leads us through many tribal villages settled along the mountainside. We’ll view the gorgeous scenes of farms, suspension bridges, and water streams. Stay overnight at a local house.

Day 4: We rise early and continue the hike to the village of Tay tribe. Visit a local school and interact with students and teachers for an overview on the traditional education. Stay overnight at a local house.

Day 5: The hike loops back Muong Hoa Valley. After lunch, we return to the train station for the Hanoi return overnight train journey.

Day 6: Arrive in the early morning and transfer to the hotel.
